During Jesus’s last meal with His disciples before He was taken away to die on a cross, His disciples were worried and afraid. Jesus told them “Let not your heart be troubled” because He was going to be with His Father to prepare a place for them. Thomas then asked Jesus something like this, “since we don’t know where that place is, how can we know the way?” John 14:6 captures Jesus’s response: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (NIV). Some people believe that doing good things or living a good life is the path to Heaven. Jesus made it crystal clear that there is only one true path to be with God in Heaven, and that path is through Jesus Himself. He is the only way.
