One of the great weaknesses of our society today is that we think we’re too smart. We have amazing technologies that allow us send messages around the world in microseconds and post messages like this one on an internet that anyone in the world can view. We can fly almost anywhere in the world in hours and we regularly rocket people and satellites into space. We have doctors and medicines to treat sicknesses that hundreds of years ago would be fatal. Pretty amazing. The danger, however, is that we start to think we’ve got it all figured out…we think we’re so smart that we don’t need God’s input as we decide what we should do from day-to-day. That mindset, relying on our own “understanding”, is a recipe for failure. Proverbs 3:5 reminds us where our trust should always be…with the all-knowing, all-powerful God who created the very universe we live in. He knows everything. We must trust Him.
