Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses. – Proverbs 28:27 (NIV)

He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. – Proverbs 28:27 (KJV)

God’s Life Hack:  Share Your Blessings

God expects us to share our blessings with others and help those who are truly in need.  Giving is an absolutely vital aspect of being good stewards of the resources God has given us, and that message is reinforced throughout Proverbs:
A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. – Proverbs 11:25 (NIV)
Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done. – Proverbs 19:17 (NIV)
Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses. – Proverbs 28:27 (NIV)

The image at the top of this post highlights Operation Christmas Child because that effort puts these Proverbs into action.  This week our church, like a multitude of other churches,  is collecting thousands of shoeboxes full of small gifts that Operation Christmas Child will distribute literally around the world to those who are less fortunate.  It’s a shining example of sharing our blessings with others.  This is just one of the many activities of Samaritan’s Purse, an organization that seeks “to follow the example of Christ by helping those in need and proclaiming the hope of the Gospel.”

In closing, this week’s life hack is pretty straight forward:  let’s look for ways to share our blessings…
