This week’s theme:  God’s Life Hackssimple Biblical truths to increase the fruitfulness and happiness of our lives.

God’s Life Hack:  Have Confidence

This is the final week of 52 Proverbs in 52 Weeks! Each of the previous 51 weeks we’ve filled our hearts and minds with God’s wisdom from the book of Proverbs. We’ve seen that Proverbs is full of God’s “Life Hacks” – His guidance for the situations we encounter from day to day, everything from choosing good friends to managing our resources to trusting His plans.

Our final verse for this year, Proverbs 21:30, is one that should inspire confidence. Note that God has a habit of doing that – inspiring confidence – when He gives His people a task.

  • As He sent the Israelites into the Promised Land…
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. – Joshua 1:9
  • As He gave Solomon the task of building His temple…
David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.” – 1 Chronicles 28:20
  • As Jesus sent His disciples (and us) out into the world…
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. – Matthew 28:19-20

Proverbs 21:30 should provide similar encouragement to us from day to day. No matter what we encounter — opportunities, challenges, uncertainties — our God is in control, and there is “no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed” against Him.

So, as we usher in a new year…
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD (Psalm 31:24)
– Know that His thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways His ways (Isaiah 55:8)
– Know that He has plans and His plans are for good (Jeremiah 29:11)
– Trust Him with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5)
– Know that He and His Son are with you always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:20)
– And have confidence! There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD (Proverbs 21:30)

Happy New Year!
